These Moori tips from Japan which are available in soft, medium and all in 14mm. (now in version 3.5)
Moori Tips is a Japanese manufacturer of billiards and pool cue tips. Originally fabricated by hand by founder Hideo Moori in his home outside Tokyo, they are now produced in a factory. The tips are exclusively made from boar leather, and consist of several thin layers bonded with an adhesive.
14mm Moori pool cue tips are constructed of 9 layers of the highest quality pigskin. Moori pool cue tips are one of the most popular cue tips on the market today offering consistency and superior quality. Moori tips are low maintenance and will outlast most other pool cue tips out there today.
Moori was among the first to use a lamination technique to make a cue tip. Moori tips received their first major exposure during the WPA World 9-ball Championship in October 1994, and prompted many other companies to begin manufacturing layered tips, today including Talisman, Tiger, Japanese Molavia and Kamui.
Moori cue tips consistently receive the highest reviews for both eight and nine ball and this is now the version 3.5 which you will see some websites are selling version 3.
I have a checker on order which I’ll show a clip once I receive it which shows a hologram that moori is now using.
The Moori company is now producing a smaller amount of tips due to the amount of quality leather and that is why some suppliers are no stocking them as they are now in limited supply. The USA main agent is now not with Moori and they haven’t tried to get the larger re stockist or wholesalers back due to not having enough stock to make the quality we all know.
