Bingham outplayed his opponent in a one-sided final as Allen failed to reproduce the form which saw him beat Mark Selby in the semi-finals yesterday. World number 11 Bingham won five consecutive frames from 5-3 as he coasted to the £85,000 top prize.

Five-time World Champion O’Sullivan skipped the first two ranking events of the campaign – in Wuxi and Australia – and his stay at the third was short-lived as he failed to handle the challenge of veteran McManus.

Selby produced an astonishing fight-back to win 13 of the last 17 frames and inflict O’Sullivan’s first world final defeat on the five time champion.
O’Sullivan was looking for a third consecutive crown and appeared to be cruising when he led 8-3 and 10-5 on Sunday. But Selby rallied to 10-7 overnight then won five of the six frames in the third session as O’Sullivan, uncharacteristically, crumbed under the intense pressure.
And Leicester’s 30-year-old Selby produced…
Mark Selby finished the second session of his Dafabet World Snooker Championship semi-final 9-7 ahead of Neil Robertson – but missed a golden chance to extend his lead.
Robertson made a vital clearance in the last frame of the session to share the eight frames and trail by just two overnight. The target is 17 frames for both players and this match looks like it could go right to the wire with the final two…

The six-time world champion, 56, believes the “obsessive” nature of men for an “absolutely irrelevant” activity gives them an advantage.
“The male of the species has got a single-minded, obsessional type of brain that I don’t think so many females have,” he told BBC World Service’s Sports Hour.
Leading women’s player Reanne Evans agreed that focusing solely…
