Stuart Bingham booked his place in the semi-finals of the 2012 PartyPoker.com Premier League Snooker with two thumping 6-0 wins on Thursday in Guildford.
The Basildon player whitewashed both Mark Selby and Neil Robertson as he stormed into next month’s play-offs in his first year in the league. His total earnings for the evening came in at a staggering £16,000.
Bingham has now completed his matches and with three wins and a draw from his four starts he finishes as champion of Group A. The defeat leaves Robertson facing a sink or swim battle against Ding Junhui on Thursday 15th November at Spennymoor. The Aussie needs to win whereas the draw will do for Ding.
Against Selby, Bingham knocked in breaks of 52, 59, 54, 128, 122 and 50, then against Robertson he fired in 135, 127 and 92.
“That was a good day’s work, and it pays for the wedding! Michelle and I are getting married in to Cyprus in May so that pays for everything,” said a delighted Bingham.
“In practice everyone can play like that but to do it on the main stage was unbelievable. I’ve beaten the World No 1 and former World Champion – well I hammered them.”
