Subject: Re: NSW Lightning Billiards League – Round 1 17 March

Greetings Billiards Players,

The second round of Lightning Billiards will be on at Hornsby RSL on 19 May commencing at 9.30 a.m.Strictly limited to 16 runners, therefore we encourage you to get your entries in early to avoid disappointment.
Entries are open to ALL players and it is not necessary to be a member of a club or Association.

We had a full entry list for Round 1 and expect to be over full in round 2 as well, despite 4 players dropping out by progressing through to the November finals. ( Andy De Haan, Adam Fitzgerald, Robert Bugariu, Ray Hanna). The tournament was a great success and an excellent day of competitive Billiards and cameraderie was enjoyed by all.

We break for lunch together and it was great to share some stories and enjoy the company of people who love the game.

We would like to especially encourage lower grade players to get involved and off handicap it’s anyone’s game. State Champion Joe Minici got knocked out, and a number of higher handicapped players progressed to quarters and semis. We would also encourage Snooker players and other Billiards newcomers to get involved in the beautiful and creative game of Billiards. It’s an easy introduction to competitive Billiards in a short format with a big headstart.

Entries can be made online at our sexy new website ( courtesy of Sally Northover- Andy de Haan’s talented wife): (Some links will be set up in the next 48 hours)

Or you can phone Peter Tankard on 0403254308.

Entry fee is $20, but you get back a $10 lunch voucher courtesy of the mighty Hornsby RSL Club. Prizes on the day are $200 for the winner + a leather office chair and $100 for the runner up + a compact office chair, but more importantly all 4 semi-finalists progress to the Finals in November where the winner gets $1000 and the runner-up $500.

This is a sponsored tournament with prize money, regardless of the number of entries.
