Yarraville has secured the country’s best billiards players for the next three years.
The Australian Open Billiards Championship and the Australian National Billiards Championship were held at the Yarraville Club last year, which will now also host the 2013, 2014 and 2015 titles.
The national championship is one of the oldest prizes in Australian sport, having been played since 1906.
There is no distinction between professionals and amateurs, allowing players to compete in the national and open divisions.
The field includes five former winners, including Steve Mifsud, who took out the 2012 titles and last week’s City of Melbourne Snooker Championship.
The events are round-robin, with qualifiers going into a final-16 knock-out stage.
The championships are on June 15-22 this year.
